ABOUT THIS PORTFOLIO

 

This portfolio is a compilation of work that seeks to understand the stuggle that exists between self-preservation and self-presentation. When looking at self-preservation, I have seen across many courses and various genres the treasures that people hold on to--whether those treasures are tangible relationships or fleeting memories. Self-preservation is a powerful thing, because as I have learned, what we choose to cling to can end up sustaining us. When looking at self-presentation, I have seen just how far people will go to create an image that people will approve of. In this day and age, with endless ways to broadcast ourselves, we are in search of reassurance, of someone to tell us that we are doing something right. My final project for my Minor in Writing is rooted in understanding why and how we are branding ourselves in this ever-changing world.
